Working Principle of Clamping Cylinder
A clamping cylinder is a device that uses air pressure as a power source to clamp, secure, or clamp workpieces. Its working principle is as follows:
1. Air supply: Connect the air supply to the intake port of the clamping cylinder and adjust the air pressure and airflow through the control valve.
2. Air pressure transmission: When the air source is supplied to the clamping cylinder, the air pressure will enter the cylinder through the intake port, causing an increase in the air pressure inside the cylinder.
3. Piston movement: Air pressure acts on the piston inside the cylinder, causing the piston to move under force. When air pressure acts on the piston, it will move outward or retract inward.
4. Clamping force generation: When the piston moves outward, the clamping arm or fixture on the piston will compress the workpiece, generating clamping force. The clamping force can be controlled by adjusting the air pressure in the air source.
5. Clamping force maintenance: Once the clamping force reaches the required level, the valve can be controlled to stop the airflow from the intake port entering the cylinder and maintain the fixed state of the clamping force.
6. Release clamping force: When it is necessary to release the clamping force, the air flow inside the cylinder can be released by controlling the valve to release the clamping arm or fixture, thereby releasing the clamping force.
Summary: The clamping cylinder supplies air and transmits air pressure, causing the piston to move under force, thereby generating clamping force. The size and state of the clamping force can be controlled by controlling the airflow in and out.
